Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Project Type: Academic
Intended as a design/build project, the design process was integrated with the construction process. The Passive House partnered with Habitat for Humanity and the City of Fargo to envision low income, high performance, and high density housing. As a collaboration, the project involved presentations and conversations with Habitat for Humanity staff and contractors, building product manufacturers, members of the surrounding neighborhood, and City Council meetings.
An iterative modeling process, full scale wall mock-ups, and digital energy modeling provided the rigorous groundwork to bring the project to Passive House standards (PHIUS). As a collaboration, this project includes work from Dylan Neururer, Alex Jansen, Gretta Behrens, Nathan Almen, Ian Schimke, Aaron Warner, Joshua Highly and Sean Colbert.
